Hotel Utah

I’ve always been drawn
to your ambiant warmth
I am the sum of all the poems
you never finished writing

I got loaded & looked up your house
on Google Maps
I’m so embarassed, I really zoomed in
and saw the steps I used to wait for you on

And if you don’t care
then I really don’t know who will
I’m just twirling around
the carousel of your soul

Oh, the rains came tonight
the first time since the Spring
it washed away all the streets
& that thunder’s out for revenge tonight

The lighthouse is working overtime
she didn’t flinch when the lightning hit her
and come to think of it
I never saw you on 4th Street
