April 2024

This month’s collection features the work of Olga Nenahivina, Jonathan Borthwick, and Rebecca Pyle.

Olga Nenahivina

My name is Olga, and I’m your artist storyteller, with ink-stained fingers and a soul interlaced with a tapestry of East-meets-West influences. Each sheet, a distinct individual with stories embedded in its fibers, awaits my touch to reveal its secrets. I engage, I feel their pulse, and then, my hands waltz across the surface, tracing the contours of hidden narratives. Long before academic accolades adorned my walls, art whispered its first words to me in childhood, a language of lines and colors that I understood before I could even speak. Art is my first language. My father, a sculptor, taught me that every curve and line must carry purpose and emotion, while my mother, ever the enthusiast, instilled in me a passion for making every hue sing. Under their guidance, I learned that art is not created; it is lived and breathed. My pieces are whispers of my journey, a chronicle of life as I perceive it—each a ‘thoughtform’, a still from the ever-moving picture of my experiences. They are invitations to you, dear observer, to pause and perhaps find a fragment of your own story within mine. So here I am, a friend through art, eager to share with you the chronicles I’ve drawn in ink, hoping they will speak to you, move you, and inspire you to see the world through a kaleidoscope of lines and shadows.
