December 2024

This month’s collection features the work of Ivy Caravaty, Zoe Nikolopoulou, and H. M. Heffernan.

Ivy Caravaty

Ivy Caravaty is a student at SUNY Brockport studying art. She has been honing her skills in many different areas of art including drawing and mixed media sculpture. Blending the two together has allowed her to create pieces that are both 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional. She has dealt with an eating disorder for her whole life so her pieces focus on hatred towards food. She takes recognizable foods and makes them uncomfortable for the viewer so they can experience how she felt during her eating disorder. This includes adding tongues, teeth, bugs, and other things that make us uncomfortable to see on food. Her use of found objects and 2 dimensional spaces allows her pieces to feel like you can go up and touch them.

Her work has been shown in the Fall of 2022 and Spring of 2024 Gallery Shows at SUNY Brockport. She wants to have more opportunities to showcase her work in professional shows in the future.

Zoe Nikolopoulou

Zoe Nikolopoulou is a self-taught watercolor artist from Athens, Greece. She is also a poet and translator. She grew up surrounded by nature and was constantly drawing and painting as a child, hobbies which she pursued into adulthood. She discovered the magic of watercolors and continued to experiment with them after studying English Literature and Computer Science.

H. M. Heffernan

H. M. Heffernan. Here, there, everywhere. 26 year old vagabond and Beatnik wannabe, a road scholar, if you will. Writer, film photographer and Gonzo inspired journalist-esque. Does mixed media art and some watercolor on the side. In love with the world and its inhabitants, but too, the horror and sorrow that encapsulates it all as well. Think that’s it? Cheers!
