Kaz discovered fake news.
Somehow –
To see through convincing “news” about two girls
in the jungle somewhere
starting fires with their minds.
– It’s not true. You need your hands. To strike something. That starts the fire. And then you yell, “Agh!” And stomp it out with your feet.
– Not the other way round.
– No.

On our walk to the lake
We talked about the brain.
How it is the seat of mind,
that which carries it.
Any damage to any part changes
the carried and the carrier.

On the way home
we pick up a wooly.
– You have to be careful. They hurt.
– How do they hurt.
– They have something… If you get some on you, it spreads. You need strong chemicals to get it off.

How do you know.

– I just know.
– Did you make it up.
– Mama told me.
– The source is mama.
– Don’t you think so.
– I am not an expert on caterpillars.
– I am.
– You are.
– When I get bigger,
I’ll be an expert on caterpillars and brains.
