To Watch the World End With You

We send songs back and forth
about watching the world end together.
In my mind it’s an actual desire, I wonder if you feel the same.

The world around us thinks we’re dating
and at times I wish they were right

You’re everything I wanted
I lost that
My desire flickers, candle light dim
At least for today..

Overthinking or never thinking
both dangerous pathways

How do we operate
Should you be my daily first and last thought
still
Now my mind empty, a vacant home,

I want to rent that place out
but I never got your key back

So I guess you still own that space.
There is no one I’d rather watch the world end with.
