Some Kind of Rhyme

My poems
break down walls
brick by brick,
shard by shard
memory by memory

Sometimes in cinema verité
with splashes of drama
or a gritty reel
hoping to gain perspective.
in time, by distance

I look to gain
from what I’ve lost
Be it wisdom, acceptance.
regret or redemption

My life in poems
reflects, rejoices, remembers
Trying to give reason
to some sort of rhyme.
