The flow of water
seeps through my veins,
making me too weak – too heavy –
to stand.
Thoughts swarm
my mind – a group of fish
squeezing between the
rocky walls
of weather-stained mountains.
Blue.
Dark.
That’s all I see now.
That, and the pale colors
of this room; once
vibrant and bright.
Gone.
In an instant.
Just like you.
