My name is Oliver Von Schwitz. I was born on November 1st, 1981, and am currently 33 years old. I was born in Newport, Wales, and have since moved around the world for my field of study. Currently, I live in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. I was previously married to Karen Von Schwitz, but we divorced due to a difference of opinions. She died three years ago in an automobile accident, which took place on The Silver Memorial Bridge. Mothman has enacted judgment on her disbelief. I had already investigated Mothman and his connections to my wife’s death in the journal titled: The End of Times 2010-2012.

I am a scientist studying monsters: their existence, habits, features, actions, and how they blend into society. To specify, my studies do not include zombies and ghosts; those belong to those studying the living dead. Most of the creatures I study live for unknown amounts of time, a form of immortality, or a way to prolong life. I am not a conspiracy theorist; I do not believe the president is a lizard. Most of our government leaders are actually vampires, which I will continue my hypothesis later in my notes. I am looking for facts and proof of these monsters in our world. 

This journal will serve as a continuation of my research on monsters in our society. My hope is to publish this and my previous journals on my studies.

I am currently studying West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. I have successfully scheduled an interview with Governor Tomblin in early September. I intend to get a closer look at his physical appearance. I will be looking for signs of makeup, hair dye, bite marks, sharper canines, and bloodstains. Most of these seem obvious for a vampire, except the make-up and hair dye which you may be wondering about.

Devices, such as different types of make-up, may be used to conceal his paler skin as well as contour an aging process. Vampires lack the ability to age so he may use garlic to create a puffiness to his eyes and some wrinkles. Other wrinkles, like the ones coming off his nose, may come from an eyebrow pencil and a lot of contour. Splashing water on him wouldn’t prove anything, as waterproof makeup exists and I doubt I could get close enough with a make-up wipe. Once I am able to prove a vampire’s existence, I believe makeup wipes will be used to find out which government officials are vampires, besides the use of other vampiric identifying tools that I will explain below.

The hair dye will be useful to a vampire as a way to add a few gray hairs and give the illusion of aging. Why else would his gray hairs only be on his hairline and nowhere else? It’s too difficult to dye single hairs or a portion without making it look fake. This would be difficult to wash out, but going through his trash or checking his bank statements would assist in seeing if he bought gray hair dye.

There is a small possibility that he bought fake teeth to cover up his fangs, but the likelihood of that is low due to the fact that it may be painful or his teeth are a bit too long to hide. Once again I would need to check the bank statements or trash if he did actually do this. Unless there is a specific dentist for vampires and they are able to discretely cover the fangs without pain. I will need to look into that.

I will study his tendencies such as his reaction to light, garlic in my breath, and blood dripping from a paper cut I will give myself. The garlic breath should invoke a disgusted reaction and may even cause an allergic reaction. Depending on how well-lit his office is will tell me a lot about how vampires react to different forms of light. So far I have no information on if natural light AND artificial light harms vampires or if ONLY natural light due to its existence dating farther back than artificial light. Finally, the papercut should bring about a hunger in his eyes, quick or elongated sniff, the licking of lips, and/or his eyes darting back to the cut. I don’t think this small of a cut will put me in danger, but I will have holy water on hand just in case. I don’t intend to use it because I may be removed from the meeting if I were to splash water on him. 

This new journal will prove useful in my data collection. I will write my results as they come.

I checked my old newspaper cuttings of my wife’s obituary again and again after our first encounter, and when I went to the meeting spot, she was there. We had lunch today, together. We talked. It sounded exactly like her; nagging me for not finding a real job, her voicing holding mockery to every person she believes is below her, and even rude remarks she always slipped in. 

I barely even believe she actually died. The newspaper clippings on my desk told me she did. At first, I thought it was fake, but upon seeing her it became exactly like one of our divorce meetings. But our divorce happened 3 4 7 years ago 11 10 years ago. I had to look it up. Usually, I remember these kinds of things. It was such a big part of my life. I wrote it down in my previous journals because it’s scientifically proven that writing things down makes you more likely to remember it. My journal documents my experiences, not just my notes.

We talked as if we were preparing for divorce all over again? We’ll divorce on the 1st of September this year, today was our final meeting. I don’t know why my wife holds my hand during these talks as if she is trying to comfort me. She said I’m handsome but stupid. As well as very misguided by my fantasies. If only I’d grow up, she says. But she’ll see that one day I’ll prove the existence of monsters.   

No scratch all that, our divorce was years ago. It’s 2015, not 2005. I’ve already divorced her. My ex-wife  Joanna Karen Von Schwitz. She’s just out there, living her life. And I still don’t know the reason she wanted to see me. There was nothing that she could take to court about what I said or did, there were plenty of witnesses too. I’ll figure it out. Why did we meet today, what was the purpose?

I have work to do, I’m preparing to prove the existence of Vampires soon. For now, my head hurts, and I need some sleep.

I have just finished my research on Mothman and his relation to car accidents on The Silver Memorial Bridge which connects Ohio to where I am in West Virginia. Most recently, a woman named Karen died about three years ago on the bridge after her car was slammed into by another drunk driver and pushed over the edge. Since the original Silver Bridge collapsed in December of 1967 after the appearance of Mothman on the bridge, I will assume this crash was his doing since Karen’s car ended up in the water. The only weird part is that Karen’s full name is Karen Von Schwitz. I fear it may be a sign from Mothman to stop investigating him.

Today is my interview with Governor Tomblin. I will record my research below.

Make-up: Unable to tell, need closer look.

Hair Dye: None on the back of his head.

Bite Marks:

Sharper Canines: Barely opens his mouth when he talks, mumbles a bit

Blood Stains:

Reaction to Light: Artificial light, no natural light; all windows are closed.

Garlic Breath: Made comment about how bad my breath smelled and tried to sit farther from me.

Papercut: 

I was thrown out for lying about being a reporter. I had said I worked for the local news, but his secretary looked me up and called security well before I could get much useful information. I explained who I really was and my purpose, but they still threw me out. His secretary must know Tomblin is a vampire and she might be one herself. Luckily, while being thrown out, I hit my head which caused my right temple to bleed. Upon looking at Governor Tomblin’s reaction, I found him staring at the injury almost hungrily. Difficult to tell from my position on the floor and the guards yelling at me, but there was a hint of hunger there for sure. 

Now that I am banned from city hall, my observations and research must take place at a distance. During press conferences, speeches, and at his home; away from work where he might indulge in his true form.

Another odd thing occurred today, my brother, Alexander, called me. It was a normal conversation about how he was and how I am doing, but the odd part was when he asked about the new journal I got on the 21st of August. I told him I got the journal on the 30th of August. He said he sent one, and it was said to arrive on the 21st. He then asked what the journal I was using looked like. I told him black leather with a bookmark built-in. He asked the brand and I said it had none. He said he sent me a black leather journal with a bookmark but the brand was Mole. I spoke of not remembering where I got the notebook or how it came into my possession. I just started using it on the 30th when I found it. He asked what I used to journal before them because my journal ran out of pages on the 20th. After searching I couldn’t find the 21st-29th journal entries anywhere. I don’t even remember what happened during that time. 

I hung up and looked through my huge calendar for any sign of those missing days, but found no information on what I did or was going to do during that time. I looked through my notebooks and journals again just in case, as well as any loose papers for receipts for the journal or the missing entries. The trash was long gone as well, so I could not search for the missing pages. 

I wonder if I met a monster during that time. One who could erase memories or take things from the mind itself. I shall try to think back and will continue to search for the missing days. I must have met someone peculiar, who could erase my memories. Why am I still alive? What else have I forgotten? Is the creature following me or is it still with me? Has it disguised itself? I shall write more about my days and memories to make sure I do not lose more. 

November 1st, 2015

Apparently, it is my birthday today and I have forgotten? My parents called and I forgot their names. My siblings called too? I didn’t know I had a brother or even three sisters? I asked them questions and decided to write down important information they had said.

• Isla got married a month ago and is upset I didn’t come to her wedding.
  • I can’t find the invitation and my October 1st entry holds no information on the wedding
• Alexander called me in August and sent me a notebook which we don’t know if it’s this one or not
• I’m from Cardiff, Newport, Wales
• I had a wife named Karen
• Karen died after our divorce
• My favorite color is orange
• I love to eat my mother’s Welsh Amber pudding
• I speak Welsh fluently
  • Though I could not and cannot remember when my mother talked to me in Welsh today
• Governor Tomblin is a vampire and he was what I was researching according to Alexander
  • I had to look back to remember his name

I will write more and continue to review my notes and memories. I will be heading to the doctor tomorrow to see if I have dementia or another form of memory loss. I have filled my home with notes and reminders to do so. 

Man Found Dead Gripping Journal

POINT PLEASANT, WEST VIRGINIA Nov. 5th, 2015 – Oliver Von Schwitz was found dead in his apartment, surrounded by thousands of reminders and gripping a journal over his heartless chest. 

Seen alive and well on November 2nd while sitting confused on a park bench, witnesses say he was holding the same journal and frantically flipping through in search of something. A local hospital said he made an appointment with them for the 2nd of November, but never showed up. On November 3rd he was seen walking into the hospital and walking right back out after 10 minutes. The security footage shows him wandering around the hospital confused before leaving during those 10 minutes.

After reviewing the journal, investigators say he was showing many examples of memory loss. As well as documenting his own information and questioning his own memory loss. Governor Tomblin, was once a suspect, as he threw him out of his office on the 13th of September. However, upon interview and watching footage of Schwitz’s interview with Tomblin, they found that Schwitz was the one assaulting the Governor and was banned from city hall. There is no other evidence of Governor Tomblin going to or sending out people to attack Schwitz. 

The autopsy reports Schwtiz’s brain being dried up and similar to one which would have belonged to someone who has smoked for years. However, after talking with his brother, he said, “Oiliver was never one to smoke.” His heart, on the other hand, is missing completely. Cleanly taken from its place in his chest. There was no cut or sign of injury anywhere on him to show how the heart was removed.  Investigators found no blood at the scene.

The only other information they have on the case is the missing journal pages between August 21st, 2015, and August 29th, 2015. His friends and family say he journals religiously, however, these missing pages may have all the information the investigators need to solve the case. His mother stated, “He was acting strange on his birthday, the 1st. He said he didn’t even remember us.”  

Investigators will continue to look for the perpetrator.
